Walking pictures

Sullivan has been practicing his walking skills so hard today! He can almost walk the whole length of our hallway upstairs! He is so excited about his new skill and pushes our hands away if we try to help him!! So funny!

It is hard to really capture his walking with a camera, but these pictures give you some idea. Enjoy! (FYI--the red dot on Sully's nose is a mystery. We are not sure how it happened. It looks like a little rug burn or something--Sully won't tell us what happened!)

Yesterday was Gramp's birthday. So, not only did we celebrate his birthday, but we celebrated Sullivan walking for the first time! What a great birthday present for Gramps! Here are some pictures of our fun night.

Sullivan is walking!

Today, Sullivan started walking!! We are so proud of him. He has been standing on his own for about 2 weeks, but has always been too scared to take that first step independently. Today, he gathered all the courage he could and took those first few steps! He received such a great reaction from me and Brett, that he was up to about 15 steps by the end of the night! Way to go Sullivan!

We took a lot of video today, but will take some pictures with the still camera tomorrow to add to the blog later this weekend. Check back for pictures of the big event!

Sullivan LOVES to play!

Sullivan LOVES to play with his toys! Every morning after breakfast and our walk with the dogs, we play upstairs in his playroom. His favorite thing lately has been to throw out all of his blocks from his wagon and put them all back in. It is a very loud activity. In the afternoons, we pull out his bigger toys that he rides and walks behind. Sullivan is always so proud of himself when he walks across the room, and often cries when I stop pushing him on his little red firetruck. He hates for me to stop, but after 5 rounds around the house, my back begs me to take a break!! haha

I have been snapping some shots of Sullivan playing over the past few weeks. You can get an idea of what it is like to play with Sullivan over the course of the day. Enjoy!

I am SO proud of myself!

Sullivan loves it when Daddy and Mommy push him on his firetruck. We push him all over the house and Sully holds on tight and puts on his biggest smile! So fun!

I love crawling through my tunnel!

Do we have a young Beethoven on our hands? He LOVES playing with his xylophone. He bangs those keys so hard and then looks back at me. He is so proud of himself!!!



Sullivan LOVES to read! In a room filled with toys, he almost always crawls over to his books first. He loves turning the pages, and he especially loves books that have places for him to touch things. We have many touch and feel books because they are Sullivan's favorites. Hopefully, his love for books will be a life long interest!

So sweet!

For Sullivan's birthday, Mnee and PupPup bought Sullivan a fun learning table. It plays all kinds of music, teaches numbers, letters, and all kinds of little tricks. Sullivan loves putting the ball down the different chutes and watching the balls end up down at the bottom. He loves his fun toy, and I love how it keeps him entertained!

So many fun things to do. Where should I start?

I'm going to put the ball down the chute! So fun!

Sullivan loves to play, but he always finds time to crawl over for a little love, because he also loves hugs and kisses.

Brett Graduates from his MBA program!

Yeah for Brett! After three long years, he has finally completed his MBA at Belmont University! What a great accomplishment! We spent many long nights, he attended many classes, and spent many, many hours preparing papers and assignments. I am so proud of him, and I was so excited to see him hooded at his ceremony this past Thursday evening! Sully and I took some great pictures of the event.


Brett did all the hard work, but it was definately a celebration for our whole family!

Sullivan loves to stay at hotels! We snapped some cute pictures of Sullivan after his bath this morning. He was being extra cute!

We wrapped him up like a burrito after his bath, but he immediately tried to get his arms out!

Sullivan and I had lunch with some old pals in downtown Franklin. It was so nice to see everybody! We miss you guys!

Sully and I met Baby Sophia for the first time. Sully tried to talk to her, but she was too sleepy! How precious!

We had a fabulous time in Nashville! A cold front came through while we were gone, so we are looking forward to some cooler temps this weekend! We are going to splash around at the pool and hang out at the park. Another fun weekend for Sullivan. We hope you all have a great one too!

Sullivan's first birthday party!

Hello all! Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a fabulous weekend celebrating Sullivan's first birthday. On Saturday, we had a party for Sullivan's friends and family. He had 4 of his best buds and their parents over to the house, Auntie Lindsay was here, and both sets of grandparents were here! We had a great afternoon of fun! The house was packed with fun stuff all for Sullivan. What a lucky boy!

CAKE TIME!
Sully's best little girlfriend's mom, Catey, made Sullivan's adorable birthday cake. It was shaped and decorated to look like a little duck. It was an awesome cake. Catey is very talented. Sully also loved the cake! Here are some fun pictures.

We hope you enjoy the pictures. As you can see, we had a great time at Sully's party! He loves all of his new toys! We have been playing really hard with all of his new toys! So fun for Sullivan!

Sullivan and I went to the Dr. yesterday for his one year checkup. He had 3 shots and his finger pricked. He cried, but was very brave. He weighs 22lbs. 9oz. and is 31 inches long. He has grown a lot over the past year! The doctor said he was very healthy! Yeah for Sully!
