Sully's latest adventures!

Hello everyone! We have had a very busy three weeks! Brett and I went skiing with some friends in North Carolina while Sully stayed with Grancie and Gramps for the weekend, Auntie Sara came into town from KY to visit, and this past weekend we were all in Orlando, Florida. I competed in a triathalon with my friend Catey at a state park close to Orlando. Her family lives in Orlando, so Brett, Sully, and I stayed with them for a little mini-vacation! We had a blast! Catey and I did really well for our first triathalon, we went to a fabulous arts festival, visited the zoo, played at a great park, and had a whole bunch of fun with Malley and her cousins, Lilly and Jackson! It was a fun time for all! We are now back home enjoying the beautiful weather! The trees are starting to bud and the grass is showing some signs of growth! The temps have been in the mid to upper 70s with lots of sunshine! I couldn't have asked for more perfect weather this week! This weekend is going to be just as nice, so Brett and I are going to get our hands dirty out in the yard and then play some tennis!

Well, enough with the chatting--I know all you want to see are the pictures of Sully, so here they are...starting with our visit with Sara...

Malley's Grandma Turner had a fun water table in her backyard. We stripped Malley and Sully down to their diapers and let them play! They had a blast! We gently squirted Sully with the hose and he thought it was hilarious! It was a fun afternoon!

When we visited the zoo, Sully took his first train ride ever! He thought it was pretty fun! So did Brett! :)

The park by Malley's grandparents house was so nice! There was a fun lake where we saw many herons hanging out nearby, a great playground, and a lot of chipmunks and squirrels running around to facinate Sully. I could have done without the squirrels! hahaha

There is a really nice area of Orlando called Winter Park. They had a really nice arts festival on Sunday, so we all spent the morning there. It was a great day with lots of fun things to look at--Sully's favorite was the big fountain!

As you can see, we have been having a lot of fun with our Sully! He is really starting to talk with his words more and he still learns new signs daily! What a fun age! We hope you enjoy the pictures and have a great weekend!

Sully busy at the park!

Hello everyone! We have had some beautiful weather here the past few weeks! We have been so busy playing that we haven't updated the blog in awhile. I took some pictures this morning while we were at the park. Sully just loves playing at the park! He loves to climb, go down the slides, play in the huge sandbox, swing, and just exploring. His favorite adventure at the park is walking to see the ducks in the pond. We always cross our fingers that they are there, because if they aren't, Sully gets upset! You can always tell that Sully has played hard when we get home from the park, because he usually is very dirty and looks very sleepy!

Sully was saying, "Duck!" We were on our way to the pong to see the ducks. Sully gets so excited to see the ducks, that when we are walking to the pond, he always turns around and screams, "Duck!" It is hilarious!!

Sully update!

Hello everyone! We hope everyone is finding a way to stay warm during this cold winter! We have had some warm days, but this past week was a little on the cold side for us Southerners down here in Atlanta! Sully misses the park, but we have started some new activities. Sullivan is now taking some swim lessons--surprise, surprise that we want him to learn to swim!! haha He is actually quite advanced in his class. He has already learned how to hold on to the wall all by himself without my support and climb out of the pool without my help. Some days, though, I have to give his hiney a little push while he is getting out--his belly can be awfully big some days! hahaha Sullivan has also learned how to blow bubbles and he even floated on his back this week for about 5 seconds all on his own! Watch out Olympics of 2020! hahaha I am going to try and get some pictures and/or videos of his swimming to share with you all to enjoy!

Sully is really starting to imitate what we do and say. He is starting to say a lot more words, like cheese, dog, cat, juice, duck, Daddy, Jack, etc. For right now, though, his favorite way to communicate with us is still through sign language. He is getting so good at his signs and probably knows between 30-40 words through sign. We learn a new sign almost everyday. He picks them up so fast now. It is so fun!

Last weekend, Sully spent the night at Grancie and Gramps while Brett and I enjoyed a late night out with some friends. Apparently, he and Patches became big buddies. Here is an adorable picture of them.

Malley and Sully have really started enjoying playing with each other lately. They chase each other around the house and laugh. It is the sweetest to watch. For so long they would just parallel play, but now, they are starting to interact with eachother. We are working on sharing a lot---they, of course, always want to play with the same toys. Here is a cute picture of the two of them playing at playgroup.

Sullivan visits the Zoo!

On Tuesday, Sully and I went with Catey and Malley to the zoo in Atlanta. It was a really nice day for the end of January. We had a sunny day in the 50's and hardly anyone was at the zoo, so we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was a perfect first time at the zoo. Sully and Malley could stroll around and we didn't have to worry about them getting lost in the crowd because we really didn't see anyone else!! It was great! We saw elephants, kangaroos, rhinos, tons of birds, zebras, pandas, and all kinds of snakes and iguanas. Sully and Malley even went in the petting zoo and saw goats! It was a really fun day! At first, Sully was a little apprehensive about the animals. He just had that look on his face in the picture. But, after a few animals, he started to show more emotion and acted really excited!

Sully's visit with Nick!

Hello everyone! This past week, Sullivan was lucky to meet his cousin Nick from PA! Nick is a pilot for Continental Airlines! Sully really enjoyed showing Nick all of his favorite toys! Here are some pictures from our fun evening!

What has Sully been doing lately?

Hello everyone! Sully has been quite a busy boy over the past few weeks! We are back on our normal schedule after the holidays, so playgroup and gym classes are back in session! We have also had some beautiful, warm weather so we have spent many afternoons at the park and outside with the dogs. Sully also loves to play at the YMCA. I take him most mornings and he plays with all of his buddies while I work out. It is a great way for us both to have some time to play!!

Sullivan is really taking off with his sign language. He has learned so many new signs over the past few weeks, and is very good at using them when he sees certain animals or wants certain things. He knows how to sign fish, dog, cat, bird, and horse. He knows how to sign eat, cracker, banana, drink, milk, water, please, thank you, and baby. He also knows how to sign car, train, hat, shoes, socks, baby, and Mommy! What a vocabulary he is developing! We are very proud of him and he gets so excited when he uses a sign and we repeat what he is saying. He loves knowing that we understand him!!! Hopefully, in a few months, his sign language vocabulary will help him actually say the words to us...but, for now, it is fun to teach him sign language and communicate so well with him this early in his life!

I am attaching some fun pictures of Sully over the past few weeks. The first batch of pictures are from the other night when Malley was over at our house while her Mommy was out. Malley and Sully play well together and are really starting to enjoy each other. Enjoy the pictures!
